My name is Pastor Jerry Garrett I have been in the ministry for thirty years. I have been married for thirty three years. I sing with my Nephew Michael and we have been singing for three years. Michael has been married for 11 years and has two Children.
We travel form church to Church and revivals to bring Gospel in song and word for the Lord Jesus Christ. I have opened for the Harpers and The New Henson. We have two new CD’s out called Come to Worship and Holy fire. I attended West Virginia University with a degree in sports Medicine. and attended Bethesda Bible college. My nephew served our country in the Army for six years. He is now retired from the service. I’m retired from head of security now we are traveling and spreading the word of God. Our goal is to bring souls into the kingdom Of God. We love the Lord with all our hearts and we want to share what God has done in our lives. I want to thank you for reading our letter. HeartStrings Gospel Band is an emerging cross genre gospel group, blending sounds from genres ranging from bluegrass, southern gospel, contemporary Christian, and Irish pop. They are a fresh sound spreading one of the oldest stories in existence – the story of Jesus Christ! All of the children of Bill and Marjorie Smith were raised to sing in the church and school choirs, but their vocal ability and sibling harmonies were best crafted on family trips in the back seat of the car.
Bill is a member of Stout Memorial U. M. Church Choir and is also a member of the “Praise Hims” men’s choral group and the “Praise Team.”
After high school, Jim played drums and sang in various bands in the area including “Stallion” and the Christian rock band “Above and Beyond.”
From 1993 to 1995 Steve sang in the Southern gospel quartet, “The Carriers.” From 1995 to the present he has been on the praise and worship team at the Celebration Center of Marietta, becoming Praise and Worship Leader in 2004.
Their vocal talents were finally grouped together in 2006 when The Smith Family Singers was formed. We hope you will give them a listen and hear the beautiful melodies backed by close sibling harmonies. And as Steve puts it— all with Biblical messages that speak to you.
