  11. I learned about the hatred of “salesmen” at age 8. I knocked on my neighbors’ doors asking for donations to the March of Dimes. Took the abuse of about 10 slams before I quit. Broke my heart that they couldn’t be kind. I think they taught me to be unkind—until I decided I want to honor God in all I do—61 years later. I know Jesus’ gift of the cross he bore is how I am forgiven. I still speak my mind, sometimes lacking kindness, but come to my senses knowing I am forgiven as long as I let God know I am sorry and will continue to honor Him despite my shortcomings. Praise God and Jesus!

    Yesterday, my husband and I received a shut off notice from our electric company and a letter from our apartment stating if we don’t pay our rent in 3 days, we would be evicted. We have also been behind on our phone bills and have been struggling to have enough money for gas, food and household essentials. We already knew that with the late fees, his standard paycheck would not cut it. I’m currently at home, 21 weeks pregnant with twins and of course it is very easy to worry about our situation, so I was about to pick up a book written by one of my Pastor’s. It was that moment when your book stood out to me on the shelf, as if the Holy Spirit said, “no read that one.” So I picked it up, and read the whole book. I even sent some pictures of the words from it to my husband because I knew the Lord was speaking through it.

    Now I’m here to testify that the amount of peace we received from the Lord made no logical sense because he was even supposed to get paid yesterday, but he didn’t. Regardless, we were incredibly calm and collected, we could laugh about our situation. Our faith was strengthened and stood firm in trusting the Lord. We just knew the battle belonged to Him and that He has a plan for our lives. We remembered His faithfulness to us and recognized everything belongs to Him. We know the devil can only do what God allows him to do, so we did not have any more reason to fear.

    So, today, my husband went to work and he texted me “you are not going to believe this.” His job decided to give out bonuses today so they are giving him $900 extra on his paycheck. They have never given out bonuses before, but God, He is always right on time. Thank you Jesus, and thank you again Max Lucado for allowing the Holy Spirit to use you to bring strength and encouragement into our lives when we needed it.

  20. I am certain I ran across this video for a reason this morning. So many of the comments have requested prayer… Please know that I am taking time out and stopping to pray for all of you. ( because this is all I can do from here). Please consider looking into diet changes. I believe diet has devastating destruction or immense healing powers in it. (Second only to our faith and promises from God). Just pull up Podcasts or YouTube videos on diet, anxiety and depression! This is another weapon in your arsenal that you can be in control of right where you are. Sweet sweet peace and blessings to all struggling with this. I realize this is bigger than simply diet, but I know that I know…this has a dramatic affect and is within your power to change.
