The Power of the Written Word: Exploring Biblical Foundations on Video with Dr. David Jeremiah

In his video “The Power of the Written Word,” Dr. David Jeremiah explores the significance of scripture and its transformative power. Above all, Biblical references compel arguments for the role of written words in deepening faith.

Scriptural Foundation of the Written Word

Dr. Jeremiah emphasizes the Bible’s authority as the written word of God. Concurrently, he cites 2 Timothy 3:16. It states,

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”

Simply put, this verse underscores the belief that the Bible is divinely inspired and serves as a guide for faith and practice.

Historical Impact of Scripture

The renowned pastor also highlights the historical impact of the Bible. With this he notes how it has influenced cultures and civilizations. He refers to Psalms 119:105. The Psalmist says;

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path,”

The verse illustrates how scripture provides direction and insight throughout history.

Personal Transformation Through the Word

Personal transformation is a key theme in the video. So, Dr. Jeremiah uses Hebrews 4:12. The verse reads;

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword.”

By and large, this passage demonstrates how the Bible can penetrate the heart and effect change in individuals’ lives.

Enduring Relevance of Scripture

The video concludes by affirming the enduring relevance of scripture. For that reason, Dr. Jeremiah references Matthew 24:35 to stress that the teachings of the Bible are timeless and continue to offer guidance and wisdom.

Dr. Jeremiah’s video effectively underscores the power of the written word in shaping faith and guiding believers. The Biblical references used provide a strong foundation for understanding the transformative potential of scripture.

  1. Thank you for the reminder to write out Gods words. It really does make a difference.

    1. Jeremiah 23:16 “Do not listen to the words of the prophets (televangelists, Ministers, Priest, Pastors, Bishop ) who are prophesying to you; They speak a vision of their own imagination, Not from the mouth of the LORD ( for your Money ) 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 This is a blunt, shocking scriptures.

  2. I’m sitting here on my front porch with a cup of coffee listening to Dr. Jeremiah, it’s a rainy sunday morning.. My heart is so full of joy I don’t think there’s anything that could wipe the smile off of my face at this moment… I have always thought that I was alone, I have never known anyone that had the need or want to copy with pen and paper Scripture…. I’m about to burst with joy!!!!!!! Thank you Lord!!!

    1. Oh my sister, you are not alone! I keep a pencil and spiral binder beside me when I read and study God’s Word. The author of “Experiencing God” said “when God speaks, write it down.” I have found that I retain so much more! And I am planning to begin handwriting the books of the New Testament – slowly and contemplatively. I am advanced in age but I will begin and do this until the Lord Jesus comes for me, either in the Rapture or by way of the valley of the shadow of death. I rejoice with you!!!

    2. Cheryl, this AM as I was reading my Bible I remembered another thing that is also a way to become immersed in the Word. I read slowly of course but I also read out loud Dash

    3. I hit the wrong thing and ended before I was finished period was about to say that I read out loud but not at a loud volume. Just above a whisper so that I can hear myself. I don’t know why this seems to give me more clarity than just reading to myself but it often does so try that also along with writing down what God says to you.

    4. @Elizabeth Perilloux Thank you!!!!! 😃😊🙂 I agree with you…I have a Bible app that I can listen as I read along also..

  3. Thank you Lord for touching my heart through Dr. Jeremiah God-bless him…Amen

  4. Dr. Jeremiah know you brought me back to my Father. I was so distant and I couldn’t hear him. I thank you and I will be forever grateful ♥️

  5. Words of wisdom: The Bible is not meant for us to study so we can get smarter, the Bible is meant for us to study so we can get better. – Dr David Jeremiah

    1. The bible is designed to take money from gullible fools and make parasites rich

  6. 2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
