So David accepted the challenge and went off to face Goliath with only a sling and a few stones. He prayed to God to give him strength and courage.
As Goliath advanced, David aimed his sling and struck Goliath squarely in the forehead, killing him on the spot.
The Israelites were so amazed by David’s bravery that they crowned him king.
David defeated Goliath not by his own strength, but by the power of God.
