Jesus Says Remain Watchful

Jesus Says Remain Watchful – The End of Time?

Jesus Says Remain WatchfulDuring His ministry Christ taught the disciples to follow Him. He also gave them a glimpse into the future. In this Bible lesson from Matthew 24:36-51, Jesus says remain watchful referring to the end times.

In the Bible, Jesus tells about His return and to be ready. I have a question for you. If Christ came back today would you be ready? Would I?

This is a continuation of how Jesus warns the disciples (and us) to be ready when He comes back. So, you’ll hear this message sprinkled throughout the ministry of Jesus Christ and again in Revelation about the end times.

Can We Predict the End of Time? Jesus Says Remain Watchful

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.

For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left. “Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.

But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.” – Matthew 24:36-44 NASB

When Will Christ Come?

Would you like to know the time of your death? Incidentally, surveys were taken on this subject and a large percentage of people asked said no, emphatically.

No, I would not want to know the exact date of my death, would you?

Jesus, in His infinite knowledge, knew this too. He understood that His followers would wait until the last minute to repent and do His work on earth if they knew when He was to arrive.

Procrastination Abounds

Yes, it’s the same story with us. If we knew the date and time of Christ’s coming we would become nonchalant. We would not do the work needed to bring others to Him. Alas, we would sit back and relax, We would pray at the last minute, and take our trip to heaven.

It Just Doesn’t Work That Way! Don’t Wait Until the End of Days!

We have plenty of work to do on earth yet. We must live out and share our faith with as many people as possible before our time comes – to either die or see Jesus return.

The Second Coming Of Christ

Jesus says He will come without warning. So, many people will be caught by complete surprise. Those who do not believe will not be allowed a second chance or be able to bargain for everlasting life. What a sad thought!

This causes me to look back on all the opportunities I’ve had to tell someone about Jesus’ love and missed it. Now I ask; will those people be part of the ones not taken? If someone else didn’t share with them, yes!

Preparation To Meet The Savior – Remain Watchful but Prepare

Through this Scripture of Matthew, Jesus tells us to be prepared by serving and obeying His words today. It’s futile to speculate about the date of His return.

So, let’s spend more time focusing on God and not so much worrying about the time of Christ’s return.

Go and Share – Help Others Be Prepared for the Second Coming

They will not be left behind when the time comes. Come on … We have work to do!
