Amen! Itβs a lesson Iβve learned over the years (Iβm 64). I am Roman Catholic, born and raised. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior in Kansas City, Kansas at an international Charismatic convention back in February of 1978. However, itβs taken me this long to learn this valuable lesson. THIS WORLD IS NOT OUR HOME! Jesus tells us that we are meant for so much more! HE is where our true comfort lies, where we find TRUE peace and contentment that really does go beyond ALL understanding. But there will always be a longing in our hearts as we journey in this life. Nothing in this world will ever satisfy this longing. We will not be βsettledβ until we are finally at Home in Heaven finally in Godβs Holy Presence forever. Thank you, dearest Max Lucado, for saying βyesβ to Godβs call on your life. You have helped keep this child of God on the path toward Heaven.

I thought this was such an interesting and illustrative phrase. I sat with it for a moment to bring myself to what I thought Mr. Lucado meant by it as the combination of words were counter-my-intuitive. How keen it is to notice human beings’ tendency to pretend to hope!
My eyes are surely lifted by pastor Max’s word today. Thank you, my Lord Jesus!
