Choices | Billy Graham Sermon on video

Choices | Billy Graham Sermon

Today’s video from Billy Graham is all about choices and comes from the Book of Joshua, chapter 24. Joshua gives his farewell address at Shechem. And, this is where he makes one of my favorite statements from the Bible. He says;

“..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” ~ Joshua 24:15

He knows others are serving idols but tells them quickly who he chose.

Discovering the Power of Choices in Life | Billy Graham Sermon

The Importance of Choices

In his sermon, Billy Graham emphasized the significance of the choices we make in life. He explained that every decision carries consequences, both in the present and for eternity. Graham referenced Deuteronomy 30:19 to illustrate the importance of choosing between life and death, blessings and curses. He urged listeners to choose life by following God’s path.

Biblical Examples of Choices

Pastor Graham used biblical stories to highlight the impact of choices. For instance, he mentioned Joshua 24:15, where Joshua challenges the Israelites to choose whom they will serve. He also referred to Matthew 7:13-14, which contrasts the narrow gate that leads to life with the wide road that leads to destruction.

The Role of Free Will

Graham discussed the concept of free will, explaining that God has given each person the ability to make their own choices. He cited Genesis 2:16-17 to show that even in the Garden of Eden, humans had the freedom to choose obedience or disobedience. This freedom, he noted, comes with great responsibility.

Choosing Christ

In conclusion, Billy Graham urged his audience to choose Christ as their Savior. He quoted John 14:6 to emphasize that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He encouraged listeners to make the ultimate choice for eternal life by accepting Jesus.

A Reminder bout Making the Right Choice

The sermon reminds us that choices define our lives. The right choices, guided by faith, lead to blessings and eternal life.

Our Choices – Billy Graham Asks This Question

“But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

Who will we serve? Will we serve the idols or God? Billy Graham asks us today which choice we will make. The video shares a simple message. But, the message is super strong and makes us think.

Joshua was a great military hero who led the people to victories. And, he knew they were falling away. He asked them who they would serve. So, can we say; “As for me and my house..”? I sure hope we can.

With that said, let’s give thanks for the freedoms we have in America to worship — and just as Joshua did, serve the Living God.

In Christ,

Bob

  1. Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day praying for everyone everyday God bless you all.

    1. Basically God took a very large truck and ran me over with it. I have believed in Him, sought Him, and called out to Him on many, many occasions. Way, way before that warning He gave me about me ending up in trap that would lead to me losing my life and all that He had for me. His light would barely penetrate my life, open my eyes, and set me free but rather I would continue to live in a state of confusion and isolation.

Never in my right mind would I not choose Heaven along with marriage and others things concerning God’s purpose for me. Realistically, no one in their right minds would do that.

    2. I had to write multiple replies because this thing keeps blocking my replies with certain words or sentences in them for some reason.

Healing, restoration, purpose, paying things forward and helping my aging mother, getting married and many other things have been thrown into the waste bin by Him. People who have spoken bad things over me or about me or done bad things to me have prevailed. Even members of His own flock. Things such as hitting me on the head on more than one occasion and telling me “You are a disgrace to the human race.” They have all been given the victory by God.

A preacher whom I have watched and God had used to speak to me before that situation in June, spoke to me sometime after in a message where He said it was “impossible,” to live outside the Will of God (which I was not entirely sure of, as a confused individual with an unspecified brain condition) without consequences and that it is an insane thing for someone to know the will of God (I’m not sure about this part, don’t really remember what was said here), then die without Christ. There’s a point where he looks at the screen, and says “better should have never been born!” Up to that certain point in June, I had gotten my hopes up and believed there was a light at the end of the tunnel of this unfulfilling and purposeless life of mine and was then trolled last minute on account of my physical life and worst yet, my very soul.

What has happened to me will be happening to many unaware people these last, terrible days. He will be discarding people like worthless trash and then handing them over to the forces of darkness (thus actually helping them). Like the wheat and tares deal. I am both really sad and angry. I am at a loss of words. I don’t know what to make of this.

Read Job 14:1-12 and also 18-22 (New Living Translation) and 18:5-17, Psalms 8:4-5 and 68:2, Proverbs 5:18-19 and 31:10, Ecclesiastes 9:9 and 12:5 (New Living Translation), and Ezekiel 24:9-14 (New Living Translation).

      Also Mathew 5:13, 5:27-30, 6:7, 7:19, 7:21-22, and 13:47-50; John 15:6, Galatians 5:4, 6:7-8, and 19; Hebrews 6:4-6, 10:26-31 and 13:4 (English Standard Version); 1 Peter 4:18, 2 Peter 2:4-10 (New Living Translation), 1 John 5:16, and Revelation 22:15. You could read them in whichever version online.

Another preacher said “If you are looking for God and He isn’t looking for you, then you’re damned…I’m sorry.” I have looked for him many times before that incident in June (when He was “looking” for me). Christ’s return is soon and I have been locked into a state where I can’t even be ready. I have been dragged into this BS love story from God for absolutely nothing! We are just His playthings that He can destroy as He pleases.

God has been described by one preacher, as relentlessly stomping on a sinner, showing no mercy even as the person’s blood spatters onto His robe.

If I am getting this right, consider yourself lucky and truly blessed that God has given you the capacity and the heart to serve and follow Him. To barely face any opposition or rut/trap. I could be wrong but He probably shown you His Will and gave you the chance both to see His will and to follow it. He shown you His way and allowed you to hold on to it.

I am a single (never had a woman), 28 year old man who is now wasting away in a run down, third-world country. With no college degrees or any sort way of supporting myself. No relatives to support me other than my aging mother. Can’t travel. No direction, no plans, absolutely nothing.

  11. When other pastors sell their sermons on CDs, DVDs, or in books, I find Billy Graham speaking for free on Youtube. We are so close to the end, and the world needs to hear the truth before it is too late. Thank you.

  12. One of the most amazing men who ever lived. Truly anointed by GOD to do the Lord’s work and spread the Gospel message.

    1. @Terrill Elliott That is somewhat racist to impune that on someone who had absolutely nothing to do with any of that and simply because he happens to be “white” to impune him in such a way? You might want to seek professional help if your world view is warped to this extreme. Either that or this is just a very bad troll attempt. Like “Why did the Germans bomb pearl harbor.”

  13. Amen, These classics have been a blessing to me and my family. I pray the message of the Gospel reaches all

  14. The word of God is still alive today as in the days of old,we need to constantly listen to the word of God until it takes root in our hearts,I thank God for his word preached by Billy Graham. The word of God still lives on even today.
